X- GENERATION

Wrote this story in the Horlicks Wizkids 2010 ShortStory Writing Competition. And I was the only one from my school to bag a prize. I thought of posting it in my blog today. Please send in your comments and tell me what you think of it. Thanks.

                                            I - ROBOT

                                        X-GENERATION

I was floating within the room.

I felt like I was in a cocoon of silence.Thoughts flashed across the back of my mind like that of a movie. But i just could not find the solution to my problem.Irritated,I opened my eyes and took a glance of my surroundings.Shiny droplets of silvery water curled lazily in air ,which had originally come out of the glass tumbler that had floated to the back of the room..I stared at each water droplet dwelling on the amazing complexity of its structure. It is an amazing feeling to be in zero G.This was called the thinking room and it was obvious why it was called so.The silence at home enveloped me.It helped me  to think  more clearly.I stared at the ceiling for a few minutes and then again closed my eyes in desperation.

Let me introduce myself , I am Professor Leonard.I am the most famous and well known engineers in all time history.I have jet black hair,I wear broad rimmed spectacles and my comrades say that sometimes I am too obsessed with whatever I do.I've been known for bringing the amazing  fifth generation computers into existence and for doing some amazing ground breaking research on super computers. But these only remain as areas I have already conquered. Now I'm looking to life for a  more bigger challenge.
I soon did receive a challenge.I was invited to a multi-billion dollar NASA project,to bring into existence the ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.Well we already had robots in existence, but these robots did not have a mind of their own ,or in lame - man's terminology an  "Idiot Box".They did not have a mind of their own although they had highly improvised methods of accepting inputs or sensing the necessary inputs. No ,the NASA project was about creating a BEING which had the senses, emotions and logic of a normal human being.
The  goal was more easier to set ,than to meet. Countless days had passed thinking about the intricacies of creating this powerful "HUMAN BEING".Several days had gone by since I properly had a good night's sleep. Each time I tried to get some sleep, new thoughts about the model would enter my head. This was a project that had to be completed within another two months.NASA's funding through the presidents office, was put on hold as there was a huge investment on the project which was being spear-headed by me, and yet we had very few results to go by.The project had begun last year.
During the course of the previous  year and a half,as I worked with my team of biologists helping in creating the model, I slowly began to understand the world's PERFECT creations, why even the tiniest organisms play an important role in our ecosystem, and that without them there would be no huge multicellular organisms. They are all cogs of a huge machine all playing their parts individually ,just like the small screws, nuts and bolts of a computer. Each being plays a part in the universe and I also learnt that everything in the universe is inter-related.A butterfly flapping its wings on one side of the Earth could cause a cyclone on it's other side.I learnt that man had not reached yet to the height of his evolution, and that he still has not learnt to use his powers to the full capability.
However the greater challenge being posed to me was to incorporate the tiniest structure of the human body into the artificial intelligence.Although it was tough all went well till we had to bring in the human ASPECTS into the robot, that is all the things that are related to our brain. Now this was the biggest hurdle we had ever faced so far.The world's best engineers were struck and unable to duplicate the universe's most perfect design. We were unable to make a 100% match with that of a human and robot's DNA FLUID. The solution to the question evaded me for along time although I sometimes felt that the solution was at the edge of my mind. There were still many things to understand about the brain like, the different reactions that take place in our head when we become hungry,or when we remember something.
Which brings me to the present.
I floated away from the dazzlingly bright water droplets and using the room's controls restored G.I dropped onto the ground and waited for a few minutes for my internal systems to stabilise.I opened the door and headed towards the kitchen, typed my required lunch items into the machine and waited for five minutes for my fried bacon and tea to appear.I realised that dawn was approaching. I took a seat and immersed myself into the memories of my childhood days.
There have been many changes since the introduction of the fifth generation computers.First it had been HUGE computers the size of a factory, then the second, third, and fourth generation computers respectively. Also the telephone, mobile, internet, began to be used in a more widespread manner.Globalisation had become a reality.Communication became possible instantaneously. From when I was small I realised that developing lifestyles were having mostly a negative impact on people. They began to become more dependant on machines and did not work as much as they had been working before. To put it in the right words technology began to dominate us.It was the machines who worked harder and which worked FOR man.The created had almost certainly become superior to the creator.Man became more and more lazier as all his mathematical and logical operations and organising of data was done in extremely small periods of time by super computers which stored huge volumes of data in Zeobytes.A master-slave mentality would be the right word.Man had lost belief in himself and his own way of logical thinking. He instead preferred to have a machine at his side.Laptops had all come all school.Computers the size of a small chip had to be inserted onto the cornea like a lens, and the computer would be operated by thoughts, motion sensors. This allowed the person access to a huge volume of data.It was no longer necessary to remember all the facts in memory. But my view on this is that this would only reflect the speed of the computer in a person's eye, rather than the intelligence of the person itself. And the exploding population was having a heavy impact on the environment. The entire ecosystem was coming apart in bits and pieces.Global warming was on the rise. The world indeed was becoming a "smaller" place to live in.

At that moment I felt like I was closer to the answer.I thought about every possibility and                         combination of solutions to my problem.
                                   Thoughts flashed across my mind.

Then, it struck me with the force of a bullet train.

The solution was simple, so magnificent ,and absolutely mind blowing. In the span of a second my heart beat increased fourfold and I began to sweat with excitement. This is going to be the day of my life!,I thought.I took up the remote for my hologram television.I switched it on and fast dialled onto the NASA director's number. It took a few seconds to be answered.

"What is it he asked?"
"I've found it!" I replied.
"What are you talking about?Do you mean....."
"Yes we will have our results.Contact the president. We will have our results ready within two weeks."
"Finally!",My boss Sean McKnight replied,"Yessssss......It is indeed time for some results. The project was about to be screwed or trashed. But wait........ Leonard are you sure that you've found the answer????I would not be pleased to be laughed at by the president's secretary."

Well to be honest as I would find a few years later this was the turning point of my life.Well at that instant I knew what i would say.If I had said no,the project would have been trashed and we would be asked to compensate in some way for the rest of our lives for the millions of dollars down the drain. But I did not know the repurcussions then and did not know how the scientific revelation would shake the world.

My answer was a 'yes'."I am sure."

From then on the day was a blur. The conference at NASA began with grandeur where I revealed that I was able to make a 100% match between the DNA fluid of a robot and a human being ,making it an artificial intelligence. The funds poured in, and work on the model continued extensively over the next three weeks.I had given a new lease of life to the project.Everyone appreciated me.

But little did I know that it was all worth nothing and that I should never have said that pathetic "yes" in the first place, which altered history.

   AFTER TEN YEARS

It was a full on riot,by unemployed people.I was eager to draw first blood.I knew a lot  about the design of my model, but the new designs in the market were much more different and stronger. They could withstand direct attacks more effectively.Over the years  I was pushed out of the higher order of the Pentagon and was rendered jobless regretting the decision, I had made a few years back. They no longer needed intelligent minds. They only needed a computer. This had turned me against my own creations.
I took careful aim and threw a stone at a machine's head. The machines head was smashed and crumpled. The people behind me scrambled forth and smashed head on onto the other machines. These were the police militia machines. These machines were now being operated to kill on sight. The government was crumbling.

It was a disaster and the global economy was in ruins. The number of unemployed people had increased million fold. And everyone were sleeping on the streets. All countries had lost their financial wealth, and very few among the top in the ladder, the leaders of MNC Corporations alone were able to stay wealthy. But ultimately there was no use. Why?
Mass production had become widely popularised, and people were being replaced by machines.A human was no longer needed anywhere. No one had any money to buy even a loaf of bread which had climbed to the cost of a million dollars. No one had a home.Several poor and middle class countries were having a world war over the remaining resources. The people were rioting on the streets and attacking machines which were omnipresent. The people set about throwing stones and setting fire to machine building factories. But the production of these machines was such that the number of the machines were much more than the entire human population. These machines began to be used for military operations. The environment was crumbling away and everyone was almost sure that we were at the brink of existence.

I went along with the surge of the people ,eager to rip off the machines head, in my blind rage and fury at the course of events my life had taken.I stumbled forth and smashed a crowbar onto the machine which groaned and slammed down onto the ground.Little was I aware that these police militia were employed to FIRE on sight as well.Three machines at the edge of the crowd opened fire with their machine guns at the edge of the crowd. This caught everyone by surprise. There was a sudden surge away from the machines.I went along with the crowd. But,I happened to trip on a fallen machine.I smashed head first onto the ground. The stampede raged on overhead.People stepped over me to get as far away from the machines as possible.I had begun to cough out blood.Consciousness slipped from beneath me. I could almost swear that I could see light at the end of a long tunnel.Well ................................ at that last moment before the blackness engulfed me, I guessed  that sometimes it is better to keep a discovery to yourself.

You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep-seated need to believe.

I would like to first thank Richard Dawkins for his enlightening book "The God Delusion"

Many people still consider human life to be governed  by a superior entity which punishes human deeds based on the sins and crimes that are committed during the period of ones lifetime. The "R" word standing for religion is a word never uttered by politicians.Such is the power of religion.Because without religion there would be no partition in India,no 26/11 attacks,no twin tower attack in the United States,no terrorism, no  disputes between the Israelites and Palastaenians.the list would continue on and on.But most theists would get away by explaining this to be a"perversity" of religion. But how can religion without any evidence lacking any rational justification, have a perversity? One can say that you have scriptures and holy books as evidence of a religion. But such a person fails to understand that even such literary works were written by another human with ideas that favoured his period of time and which helped to explain some of the phenomena unexplainable at that time. For example the eclipses were unexplainable at that period of time. The Greeks explained the eclipses with the help of Greek gods like Apollo ,Helios etc. The early Chinese put forth dragons as a cause for rising of the sun and other natural  phenomena unexplained at that time.By bringing in an element of God they were explaining these natural events without any rational justification. They weren't willing to admit that they werent aware of the true reason for these events. The element "God"filled the spaces in the knowledge of the early human. Now we know the true cause for each of these incidents.Even if we consider these holy books to be written by a a holy immortal God, books like the Holy Bible have underwent several changes over the centuries because as time changes different ideas dominate in favour of the necessities of the men during that period, and these must have slowly crept into the texts. It is somewhat similiar to "The Great Vowel Shift" that took place giving rise to languages in different accents in Europe. Then how can people have complete faith in such texts? Moreover the thought that a literary text should be written by an immortal all powerful person who has his hands full of cosmological affairs should be bothered about our petty human affairs is a funny thing in itself

The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason

Stephen RobertsI contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours

Religious ideas are just like genes in a gene pool.Over time the most useful gene which gives a survival advantage  dominates in that environment  for a particular organism.Similiarly religious ideas vary over time and their use
Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer

"Superior technology is no less than magic"
           "Unquestioned faith is a virtue"

But my question is who would you give the credit for:The theist with the unwavering unquestioned belief who will say the same answer at any time without thought or question
or the scientist who works nights and nights to come up with a logical explanation with evidence about the matter of concern.People consider science to prove religion. But that is not possible .Facts of science directly go against matters of religion. They can never coexist.Religion is a study of creationism .In Christianiaty God said "let there be light" and the world was born. The amoebae, the birds, the trees ,the animals were created by god individually and all the living conditions on this planet were made favourable for us by God.But science is the study of evolution.Darwin turned the tables on religion.Evolution refers to the amoeba becoming a sponge in the sea which then becomes an aquatic plant which then becomes an aquatic animal, amphibian, terrestrial animal, birds, and then mammals. It is the monkey which becomes a human hence a human cannot be created individually.According to Christianity, the Earth is around 10000 years old. and this directly goes against the facts of science which suggest that the earth is 4.54 billion years old. There is a lot of difference. It is like suggesting that the length of India on a one dimensional scale from north to south is just an inch. Moreover we have evidence for such facts of science,we can time date fossils to arrive at the precise time the organism existed. But in religion it isjust a matter of belief.A standard argument by creationists would be that we have perfect organs:eyes for eyesight, hands for doing work and so on.This degree of perfection would be possible only when there is a superior entity to organise the cells into tissues, tissues to organs to form a body with perfection. This is called argument for existence of god through design. But this hides a major fallacy. Our hand, eyes and other organs have climbed up "Mount Improbable" as scientists call it referring to increasing degree of perfection of each of our organs in different species which have evolved into one another .For example taking the example of wings on birds. The members of the Dromaesaur family(dinosaurs) used their wings for the sake of insulation, and the penguin is also another such example. But with evolution the wings become larger and more than for the purpose of insulation, they began to be used for flight. With evolution organs become useful for other functions as well. The wings will surely slowly develop over a period of several million years into the long and broad wings that birds have today. But        we must understand that  even if the wings become slightly larger and wider over a small period of time it can make a difference between the death and life of the bird in question.Even a small 1% increase in surface area of the wing can drastically increase drag(air resistance).Hence we can understand that our organs have evolved from degrees of imperfection to a degree of perfection for optimum use of that organ.
Richard Lederer (Anguished English)There once was a time when all people believed in God and the church ruled. This time was called the Dark Ages.

Thomas Aquina's Arguments for the existence of God

  • The cosmological argument argues that there was a "first cause", or "prime mover" who is identified as God. It starts with a claim about the world, like its containing entities or motion.
  • The teleological argument argues that the universe's order and complexity are best explained by reference to a creator God. It starts with a rather more complicated claim about the world, i.e. that it exhibits order and design. This argument has two versions: One based on the analogy of design and designer, the other arguing that goals can only occur in minds.
  • The anthropic argument suggests that basic facts, such as humanity's existence, are best explained by the existence of God.
  • The transcendental argument suggests that logicscienceethics, and other serious matters do not make sense in the absence of God, and that atheistic arguments must ultimately refute themselves if pressed with rigorous consistency.
  • The argument from degree, a version of the transcendental argument posited by Aquinas, states that there must exist a being which possesses all properties to the maximum possible degree in order for such properties to be coherent.

I have already explained about the theory of intelligent design.Intelligent design or creationism and evolution are polar opposites of each other.Evolution has substantial proof  while the theory of intelligent design is supported only by the "Holy Books" which cannot be directly be considered as "evidence".

The basic assumption that theists make is that  god is the highest degree of perfection. Only after this assumption  does the argument from degree come into play.Because only if god is the highest degree of perfection can he be the "intelligent designer".Moreover The hypothesis of Intelligent design proposes that certain features of the universe and of living things are the product of an intelligent cause. This is similiar to the ideology of a spear making a spearsman.

The teleological argument is the one that interests me the most. It suggests an infinite regress iie.the cause of the cause of the cause and so on.Theists label the terminator of such a sequence to be god.But there are several ways to counter debate this argument.

1.Sometimes there is a terminator. For example dividing a a kilogram of gold into half repeatedly, means that even a nugget of gold in the end will have to be divided into two again. But we must uderstand that at one stage only the gold atom will be left behind and on splitting the gold atom, what is left behind is no longer gold. This in itself is a terminator.

2.If there is an unending regress and if it is assumed that the terminator is God .Then it even gives rise to a more disturbing question.I feel that this would give rise to another regree starting from"Who created the creator?".It is indeed really simple for a theist to end the regress where he wants it to.

Other arguments are based on such assumptions. But still there is the question of the origin of life. This is another gap in our knowledge like that of the early humans waiting to be filled by science. But however scientists are beginning to already propose theories on the case. The theory is that the number of galaxies in the universe are uncountable roughly the  number of stars in the sky times the number of dust particles on Earth. And it is ever expanding. Then the number of planets must be even larger.A major percentage of planets do not have any conditions suitable for life. But a small percentage must have some conditions suitable for life but not all conditions are present.Hence in such a case still no life can exist. Then an even smaller almost negligible percentage of planets may have all conditions necessary for life giving rise to the "Goldilocks Zone"  suitable for creation of life through coincidence. But remember that for such a huge uncountable number of planets , this negligible percentage may give still a considerable number.Earth happens to be one such planet and we know this because you and me are here know.Although this is still a hypothesis,i think it is a valid argument. But the question of how the first protein or amino acid came about is another question entirely. But a similiar approach can be taken to explain this as well.I am confident that science will soon fill this gap as will.

Some arguments are as follows:
  • Argument from incomplete devastation:A plane crashes and only a child survives with third degree burns.Hence God exists.
  • Argument by belief in belief: I believe.I believe.I believe..I believe I believe  I believe  I believe ,I do,I do.......
  • Argument by favoured case: Person X died an atheist. So God exists.
  • Argument By personal experience: God helped me take the right decision. He talked with me personally in my head and adviced to take the particular decision in existence

The argument by personal experience interests me a lot.Once in my house when i was asleep I thought i heard some noises.I woke up and searched for the source of the sound at 2:00p.m.I first thought they were voices whispering in my head.I soon found out that it was the wind whistling through the keyhole on the door. Our brain takes the reports from our 5 senses and constructs a 3-D model. But sometimes our brain misinterprets the information and constructs faces or the sensation of another person because in our daily life our interaction is mosly with human beings. The same can be said for dreams."The voices whispering in the head" is a common phenomena in small children but as they grow up it tends to die away. But I think sometimes it doesn't.

I rather think it is need based.Especially, lonely old people require some strength to face a situation.Hence they tend to imagine it in the form of god.

The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one

Finally I would like to comment on whether people would still remain moral if there was no religion. From transcendal argument which suggests that morality is a byproduct of religion. But I feel that such moral policing is not required. The argument that bad people do bad things ,and hence they are atheists is indeed comical. It is not  necessary that a God must be present with us for us to be good.According to the transcendal argument ,atheists are supposed to have no moral sense. But all these arguments aside ,I feel that theist or atheist they will be ready to save a child.Because a sense to do good does not come from religion,it is in fact a byproduct of humanity. It has nothing to do with belief. There will be good with or without God.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Albert EinsteinA man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death
"You're basically killing each other to see who's got the better imaginary friend"

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime; give a man religion and he will die praying for a fish

I would like to conclude saying that supernatural  religion is indeed a falsehood. But that does not mean one should not follow his culture.Culture and religion are oft interchanged words. For example in my culture ,we recite various hymns and it helps to improve vocal strength and radiates positive energy. The pradakshanam in a temple is a form of exercise. There are many good things in one's culture. But this must not become an argument for supernatural religion.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

Which is it, is man one of God's blunders or is God one of man's?

"If god doesn't like the way I live, Let him tell me, not you."

STRING THEORY

IS THERE ANOTHER DIMENSION OUT THERE WAITING FOR MAN TO BE FOUND OUT?

Scientists believe that there are eleven parallel dimensions out there. We could be swimming in this dimension but could be skipping in another dimension or could be playing in another! It is said that man hasn’t gone to such a dimension but scientists believe we can reach them by meditating. Our mind goes into another dimension and thus people have said they have experienced it. To know more about this theory scientifically, read on:
.Introduction.
String theory, also known by names such as "superstring theory" and sometimes "M-theory", is an idea that has been around for a rather long time, over two decades. It is, at one and the same time, a logical continuation of established theoretical notions dating back over half a century, and a radical new paradigm in fundamental physics.
Perhaps it is this paradoxical nature of String Theory that explains why it attracts so much attention today. Developments in this subject have hit the newspaper headlines more than once in recent years, and yet there is no direct experimental evidence that string theory is the fundamental theory of nature.
To appreciate what string theory aims to achieve and how it attempts to fulfill these aims, it is necessary to recollect the present formulation of the physics of elementary particles and fields. After reviewing the basic principles of particle physics, we will turn to a description of the fundamentals of string theory in non-technical terms.

EINSTEIN'S THEORY:
We live in a wonderfully complex universe, and we are curious about it by nature. Time and again we have wondered--- why are we here? Where did we and the world come from? What is the world made of? It is our privilege to live in a time when enormous progress has been made towards finding some of the answers. String theory is our most recent attempt to answer the last (and part of the second) question.
So, what is the world made of? Ordinary matter is made of atoms, which are in turn made of just three basic components: electrons whirling around a nucleus composed of neutrons and protons. The electron is a truly fundamental particle (it is one of a family of particles known as leptons), but neutrons and protons are made of smaller particles, known as quarks. Quarks are, as far as we know, truly elementary.
Our current knowledge about the subatomic composition of the universe is summarized in what is known as the Standard Model of particle physics. It describes both the fundamental building blocks out of which the world is made, and the forces through which these blocks interact. There are twelve basic building blocks. Six of these are quarks--- they go by the interesting names of up, down, charm, strange, bottom and top. (A proton, for instance, is made of two up quarks and one down quark.) The other six are leptons--- these include the electron and its two heavier siblings, the muon and the tauon, as well as three neutrinos.
There are four fundamental forces in the universe: gravity, electromagnetism, and the weak and strong nuclear forces. Each of these is produced by fundamental particles that act as carriers of the force. The most familiar of these is the photon, a particle of light, which is the mediator of electromagnetic forces. (This means that, for instance, a magnet attracts a nail because both objects exchange photons.) The graviton is the particle associated with gravity. The strong force is carried by eight particles known as gluons. Finally, the weak force is transmitted by three particles, the W+, the W- , and the Z.
The behavior of all of these particles and forces is described with impeccable precision by the Standard Model, with one notable exception: gravity. For technical reasons, the gravitational force, the most familiar in our every day lives, has proven very difficult to describe microscopically. This has been for many years one of the most important problems in theoretical physics-- to formulate a quantum theory of gravity.
In the last few decades, string theory has emerged as the most promising candidate for a microscopic theory of gravity. And it is infinitely more ambitious than that: it attempts to provide a complete, unified, and consistent description of the fundamental structure of our universe. (For this reason it is sometimes, quite arrogantly, called a 'Theory of Everything').
The essential idea behind string theory is this: all of the different 'fundamental ' particles of the Standard Model are really just different manifestations of one basic object: a string. How can that be? Well, we would ordinarily picture an electron, for instance, as a point with no internal structure. A point cannot do anything but move. But, if string theory is correct, then under an extremely powerful 'microscope' we would realize that the electron is not really a point, but a tiny loop of string. A string can do something aside from moving--- it can oscillate in different ways. If it oscillates a certain way, then from a distance, unable to tell it is really a string, we see an electron. But if it oscillates some other way, well, then we call it a photon, or a quark, or a ... you get the idea. So, if string theory is correct, the entire world is made of strings!
These BLOCKS are dimensions . This diagram shows the interaction between the parallel dimensions

FASCINATING FACTS:
Perhaps the most remarkable thing about string theory is that such a simple idea works--- it is possible to derive (an extension of) the Standard Model (which has been verified experimentally with incredible precision) from a theory of strings. But it should also be said that, to date, there is no direct experimental evidence that string theory itself is the correct description of Nature. This is mostly due to the fact that string theory is still under development. We know bits and pieces of it, but we do not yet see the whole picture, and we are therefore unable to make definite predictions. In recent years many exciting developments have taken place, radically improving our understanding of what the theory is.

As far as we can tell, the expansion of the Universe started many billions of years ago from a very hot, very small state. From that hot, small state, it mushroomed and evolved into the Universe we know today. Much of understanding the Big Bang is extrapolating between knowledge of particle physics today, and projections from mathematical model of an expanding universe in general relativity. The Einstein equations give us a mathematical model for describing how fast the Universe would expanding at what size and time, given the energy density of matter and radiation at that time. We base our guesses about the matter and radiation density of the early Universe based on the ancient light reaching us from the past in our night skies, and what we have learned about elementary particle physics, through theory and experiment.

A DAY IN THE CHENNAI STREET

A DAY IN THE STREET OF CHENNAI

Hi ! Welcome to Chennai city. This is the most prosporous, happy and beautiful city including spitting, bad roads, overturned garbages and most important of all littering.OKAY....you might as well think of me as an pessimist or that this city is not bad after all.Well, let's keep it that way but then why don't you take a small glimpse at the following anecdotes:

ANECDOTE NO. 1:

The day starts when I have to go to Perumbur during Diwali. So I started out from my house. Want to know how my street really looks like? You might as well call it a scenario. These are really good roads with huge cracks, open ditches ,and upturned garbages. SMELLS REALLY GOOD. There are rods on each side of the road, which leaves a real lot of space for vehicles to pass by[which get punctured on their way].We also sent a letter, a scolding letter to the Editor. But it just made it worse with more rods. Thus it is never possible to get past it without tearing wholes in your dress so that you get a new fashion design in your dress.Cool huh? While walking we were bombadded with crackers. We then had to pass through the bridge over a canal. 75 years ago it was said to be a fresh water canal with boats floating on it.Now it's a drainage canal with human excreta floating on it........YUCK !
Alas! We catch an auto.We get stuck in a traffic jam behind a bus. While we pass on to the next street my white pants turn into black! MAGIC! Want to know why? Well to say it in modern words - BY THE ENLARGED CATALYTIC OXIDATION OF EXHAUST GASES FROM THE BUS, for you geeks and nerds out there. So we get down from the auto and heard a conversation between a mother and a child[which is translated into english]:

CHILD : Mommy I want to go potty.
MOTHER: No problem. Why don't you do it here - No, not there too clean. Do it in the next house.

And so the child turned his back against the wall and did his potty.

Thus , I am purely disgusted by the time I reach Perumbur. Want to know more? Then read on to the next anecdote.

ANECDOTE NO.2:

I'm jogging along the streets when I saw a row of birds sitting on an electric wire above me.As I passed through the wire ,the birds used my head as a human toilet. I had 2 shampoos after that and settled down to read a book when I spotted two boys sitting in front of our electric cable having a contest who urinates the farest.COOL COMPETITION HUH ! Anyway my dad cleans the cables every week.I'm reallly sorry for dad !

ANECDOTE NO. 3:

I'm returning home back from school by bus. I got a seat with a tough looking guy on a two-seater. I really had a lot of space except I had one fourth of it while he had only three fourth of it. I tried to budge him but he wouldn't. I asked him to move and he just turned his pants facing the other side. The fellow then slept and rotates his head and falls THUMP! on my back.I move his head and he rotates his head the other way round and falls on me again. I really thought him as a man of decency.
I immediately stood up in the bus while I was crushed to death as a lot of hair got into my mouth from women. There a man was peeling an orange .He littered the bus by throwing orange peels everywhere including my face making a perfect circle. At last! I was happy to see my bus stop coming towards me.

PURELY DISGUSTED? You might as well quit this blog or read the last anecdote.

ANECDOTE NO.4:

I'm walking on the street home when I saw men drinking tea at a Tea shop.A man then spat out saliva on the pavement and he sat down there and placed his hand on the spit.He said to one of his friends - 'Hi! Good to see you". Then the friend sat down next to the man on the spit. I was happy to pass on to the next street.
I then cross the main street. I walked beside a bus when somebody from the window seat of the bus spat on me.

I hope you enjoyed reading the following anecdotes. My point is that we must act as true Indians and serve our motherland. We must not litter our homeland or spit on it.We must respect it.We must join our hands and make the dreamland of India come true.

CHILDREN ARE THE ONLY HOPE OF INDIA.

GLOBAL WARMING

GLOBAL WARMING

MY EARTH AND I

We HOMO SAPIENS are the most mighty animals who rule the earth directly after the dinosaurs. Thus it is our job to look after it. All the resouces we need come directly from the environment. We depend on food for life which we get from the plants. Living organisms need oxygen to breathe which is present in the atmosphere. Plants also need carbon – di- oxide to breathe. It also must be noted that water is found abundantly on Earth which is needed for life. All weather changes takes place in the atmosphere.

WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING?

THE RATE OF WARMING IS INCREASING. THE 20th CENTURY’S LAST TWO DECADES WERE THE HOTTEST IN 400 YEARS.
WHY ?
THE MAIN REASON COULD BE DUE TO THE ADVANCES IN TECHNOLOGY THAT RESULTS IN BURNING FOSSIL FUELS EFFICIENTLY.THE GASES LIKE METHANE, CARBON-DI-OXIDE ETC.REACH THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE AND ESCAPES INTO SPACE WHILE SOME OF IT GETS TRAPPED IN THE EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE. THUS THE EARTH GETS WARMED.THIS IS CALLED GLOBAL WARMING .

COMPONENTS OF THE ENVIRONMENT

BIOSPHERE
It is a narrow layer where all land ,water and air meet. Here organisms can be found from an ant to a huge elephant.

HYDROSPHERE
It is the domain of water. ‘Hydro’ in greek means water. We use it for many purposes.

ATMOSPHERE
It consists of many gases. It is the domain of air.

LITHOSPHERE
It is the domain of land ‘litho’ in greek means rock. We depend on it for all kinds of settlement.

SO WHICH DOMAIN THAT WE POLLUTE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR GLOBAL WARMING?

Well the answer is atmosphere. This can be also referred to as air pollution. For example oft that of a car. It leaves smoke which causes air pollution. It leaves more of carbon-monoxide which i9s a vicious gas. In the same way factories emit smoke which contributes to global warming. People now-a-days burn garbage which emits smoke but somewhat reduces land pollution a part of lithosphere.
Smoking a bad habit grown many people also contributes a lot to global warming. Not only that but it is bad for us too. It causes diseases in the lungs. One example is lung cancer.

WAYS TO PREVENT GLOBAL WARMING

• Use Recycled products. After using paper give it to the kabdiwallah for use. You can also make craft out of it. It saves a lot of fuel rather than burning it. NO smoke will also be emitted. Find other sources of paper too which saves many trees.
• What is your mode of transport to school?
If it is one of the vehicles stop being lazy and try going on bikes. Believe me it is fun. Even try to use public transit. For instance if a Group of four has to reach a destination ,instead of using each a car they can go together in one. Try using the inflated one in case you have two!
•The smoke left in factories must be treated before let free.

Posters
We can spread awareness among the people about global warming through posters and blogs.
